KonMari Method®

What is the KonMari Method®? Thie method was invented by Japanese tidying expert and best-selling author Marie Kondo.

Marie took tidying to a whole new level , teaching that if you properly simplify and organize your home once,  you’ll never have to do it again.

Tidy By Category

Most tidying methods promote a room-by-room, little-by-little
or a time-related approach, which usually have a quick
impact but only short-lasting success. And after a while you
arrive back to where you started off.
The KonMari Method® encourages tidying by category
– not by room! You target 5 categories, beginning with
clothes, then books, papers (documents), komono
(miscellaneous items), and the last category is sentimental
items. Any item in your house will fit into any of these 5
categories. Keep only those things that truly speak to your
heart and spark joy! All other items you discard by
thanking them for their service and for being in your life
and then you let them go.
The method stresses the importance of deciding what you
want to keep in your life and not what you want to
discard. This philosophy targets a holistic approach
encouraging you to be mindful, introspective and
forward-looking about yourself and your belongings,
hence it’s a highly effective method.

“Keep only those things that speak to
your heart. Then take the plunge and
discard all the rest. By doing this, you
can reset your life and embark on a
new lifestyle.”
